Stolen Credit Card Used To Buy $40,000 Gem

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman suspected of using a stolen credit card to buy a $40,000 diamond.

Investigators said the crime happened in March 2007 at a jewelry store at 119th Street and Metcalf Avenue. In addition to the diamond, a gem mounting was also purchased.

Investigators released a picture of the woman from a surveillance camera. The woman is described as being black and in her mid-30s. She is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and between 160 to 180 pounds. She had black hair that came around her chin in big curls.

Police said the woman was possibly driving a newer black Infinity SUV.
